Taiwan - Jinguashi, Yehliu & Shifen

From Jiufen, we arranged for a driver to pick us up as the coming places, are not as convenient to visit by public transport.

Jinguashi
This location is about 20 mins from Jiufen. Do you see King Kong's side profile?

This picture will help you....

Yin-yang Sea (do you see the yellowish area on the sea? this is due to some geological effect from the large amount of iron on the rocks nearby)

Yehliu
This place is worth the trip.
Queen's Head.
This is only the replica. The real thing is situated near the shore and is very much smaller. You would need to queue to take a picture with the original "Queen head" (how apt). Some scenes of more geological formed stones below.

Shifen Old Street
The highlight of this place is to release a sky lantern. Hopefully, your wishes written on the paper lantern will come true. So, you just need to purchase the color of the lantern as indicated below and write down your wishes. Simple!

This is the multicolor lantern we purchased. Once it is setup as below, you may start writing on the paper.

Halfway through, a train passedby...

our lantern, being released into the evening sky... From Shifen, we drove back to Taipei.

We met up some friends in Taipei and went for a good buffet dinner at BBQ Master in Ximending - thumbs up!

Taiwan - Jiufen

We took a train to Ruifeng and from there, took a cab to Jiufen.

This is the view from our B&B at Jiufen

Wake up to a beautiful scenery from the bed!

Jiufen is famous for its street which is filled with vendors selling food, souvenirs, drinks, etc. It is especially crowded during the weekends.

nah.. this corn didnt go well with me. It is glutinuous corn!!! yikes!

after the snacks, we went back to our B&B and rest.
In the evening, the streets in Jiufen are quite quiet as most shops are closed. So, we took a bus from Jiufen to Keelung. The night market in Keelung serves the best food!

this is super yummy!!!

After filling our stomachs, we took a cab back to Jiufen. The night scenes are beautiful in Jiufen.
